Track January 19 sunday

 Time laid 11:10am. Time run 11:48. Temperature 43. Wind 7mph   weather overcast 

Humidity 81%

Goal - work on double line set up , stay close to track as possible, challenge going over large gravel area

Overall felt good , there were areas to improve on 

3 things dog did well 

Some nice turns

Had nose down right at the start of the track

Went from short grass to grass my  head level to find article no problem 

Need to improve on 

Though most turns were very nice one he plowed ahead  , I really had to hold as he was driving , until he finally hit a switch and got the turn

We went over a large gravel area made a nice turn up the gravel over 2 grass bunkers then on our return to gravel  he again wanted to turn right , instead of straight.  I rally had to hold him till he got the trail but he still wanted to drift to the right  once we got to the grass area he was right on the track  again

There was a big gust of wind as we did the last part of the gravel area and the smell from the port o John’s 

Was overwhelming blowing our way , there were little kids playing off to the right , don’t think he’s ever seen a kid ? Another dog had been walked in the area earlier.  So I don’t know if these were factors .But I held the leash to keep him on the track.

2nd track on Thursday December 5

Serpentine track to the right .  Started putting track in 11:48 , weather conditions sunny 42° feels like 34 21 mph winds. The winds were really whipping up at this time probably the hardest track we’ve ever had to do. So again I put extra articles and treats.  At the first turn Zane wanted to go left instead of right we went around in circles but he definitely wanted to go to left which was toward the road and houses on the other side.  He then went back down the line from which we came and he noticed a groundhog hole that I hadn’t spotted so once again we went down the line and he still wanted to go to the left and again we did the same circle he definitely wanted to go towards the road  we finally turned to the right , we went a little ways and he found the article , glad I put it there so I knew we were back on track. monday february 3 2025 track and map

 time laid 12:30  time run -4:45 temperature 51 wind 7mph  humidity 65% goal  - duration  have the track down for a few hours before running it ran the track at ZB's woods , was some visual tracks as some leaves were still wet things done well he followed the trial fine impressed at the creek as it was a little tricky going down the embankment  over a gulley feeding the creek and back up the  creek bank improve on - the first 2 hiking trails we crossed he wanted to follow so I held my spot and he pick  up the right track track was 374 yards  food drops were 2 drops in each leg of the  track , next time will put extra food drop at hiking trails
